Points and Leveling Up.

I've noticed that whenever i post i get points.Get so many points and i level up.

Is there a set amount of points given per post?

Does your level affect how many you get per post?

Why do i lose points sometimes if i dont post?

Is there any way to keep from losing my points?

Any other ways to get points?

What if any perks come from getting the levels?

Thank you for the reply Scott.I thought there might be something here that addressed how many points were given and how but i coudnt find it.

The reason i started this thread was because the other day i posted a number of times throughout the day and got my points up and then i suddenly lost 40-50 points.Why i still dont know as i've never commited a infraction.Any idea why?And is there any way to keep from losing my points short of becoming a mod?

Okay, I just did a test and gave you a "thumbs" down in your post to see if it subtracts points. It does. Ten points are subtracted for every "unhelpful post" rating.

Did you have any "Unhelpful post" ratings? (You should have gotten a notification when someone gives you a helpful/unhelpful post rating.)

EDIT: I also gave you three "helpful post" (thumbs up) ratings for your other posts in this thread to see what that would do and it gave you 30 more points. (10 points per helpful rating)
