“Marlow” is a mercenary who struggles with his fears of who he is and what he can become. Badly hurt, the pharmaceutical company NuPharma tried to save Marlow, but accidentally turned him into the walking dead. In exchange for medicines that keep him from reverting to a zombie state, Marlow does all the dirty work the Company asks him. Marlow works with a team of loose-knit associates who know of his affliction, but who are not altogether trustworthy.
Reviewer Comments:
A new twist on survival horror. Marlow is a story about survival, a story about horror, but not in the typical sense. Marlow follows a mercenary by the same name, who in his past has seen too much, and done too much to be at piece any longer. After his final break down those who rely most on his combat expertise place him in the care of a scientist, in hopes of course that a new science could bring him back to 100%. Boy did they get what they wished for….
This story is more of a show of psychological survival horror then the mainstream type we’re all used to. Though I am also glad to say there are still it’s fare share of zombie atrocities trumping around to give it the action a title like this needs.
Marlow is a brand new addition to the Arcana comic list, and so far it’s looking good. From the storyline, to it’s anti hero characters. Not to mention the artwork in this is very different compared to the mainstream look we’re all accustom to. Which I think gives this book not only a sort of movie feel, but makes it a very unique titles all in itself. Marlow is definitely a title to keep your eyes out for in the coming month, and to see what else this particular team puts out for this series.
