You know, i think the continuity of Smallville is pretty horrendous.

- First of all, the show probably should've ended after high school.
- How in the holy hell can they explain away Lex not recognizing Clark as Superman?
- the "justice league." smallville didn't just jump the shark, it landed on it and put it's head in it's mouth to see if it would fit. sunglasses? with hoods? really?
- "no batman? no problem! we'll use green arrow!" they should've introduced someone who acts like batman, but has a different name. then, at the end of the adventure or whatever and he's picked up by his butler named alfred and clark discovers that whatever name he gave isn't his real name, and he follows him to gotham city. i mean what could happen? warner would sue itself?
- how in the holy hell can they explain away *lois* not recognizing clark as superman?

Everyone thinks that the last episode will have Clark rip open his shirt and show the symbol or something. instead i think Clark there should be some world threatening power that would need him to team up with, oh i don't know, a bunch of alternate supermen. Kal-L, Byrne Supes, Superman-Prime, whatever.

Then, at the end emo, whiny Clark dies. But see, it doesn't matter... it's an alternate world! Plus, it would piss off all the fans.

I agree the continuity is real bad but I learned a long time ago to just watch it, enjoy it, and not try to tie it into the whole history of Superman too much. It makes it much more entertaining.

As for ending the show, I would go one of two ways. Ripping open his shirt to reveal the S is always a good choice. If not that route then I would try and pull off a scene similar to the one at the end of the first Matrix movie. Have CK outside (maybe heading toward a phone booth - not that many of them exist anymore), the camera pans up above the city, and then Clark, in costume, zooms by. Just my opinion though.
