So the Guardians OKed killing for the war...should they execute the guy who started it all?
If not I hope they deal with the WY THEY DIDNT in a story.
Sinestro has been killed many times and his WILLPOWER seems to bring him back. The end of the GL's 1980s series had just that...the GLs executing Sinestro in what I thought was a well reasoned debte on capital punishment (with a ot so great twist...killing a Korugan cause they knocked boots with Zamorans was a no no) Still...all that debate and emotion...
resurrecting Sinestro was a mistake and one that just took the kick out of the original tale.
Do you think Sinestro should be executed now in light of the kill rules of the war? Or at least Guardians shown debating on killing him, or if killing him will work, etc.?

Kill in war is one thing, but killing an enemy combatant is another. Sinestro would first need to be put on trial, otherwise it would be murder.

Which was what I was getting at with Guardians debating his fate...yes give him a trial.
Killowog or Hal should be the prosecution.
But...who would defend Sinestro? (assuming they even have a system like ours)
Remember in Hard Traveling Heroes there was that story of the Guardians wanting Hal to go to this society of the most fair judges (which of course had been taken over). Wonder if they would use them again...or if they ever recovered from Hard Traveling heroes?

I'd much rather see a story about him being put on trial and somehow acquitted than being broken out of jail. At this point it'd be cliche and if done well could be a pretty good story.
With Geoff writing it, I'm sure it would be cool.
Or here's a thought: Take his ring away, and throw him into Arkham. That way he will be exposed to chaos incarnate with all those mad inmates. Might be enough to drive him to the brink of insanity...plus it might make a cool mini.

You mean sanity?
j/k I know that's what you meant. I honestly do think he's pretty sane right now. He just has a different POV. I know that "sanity" and what defines it (well more specifically what defines 'deviance') changes every 5 years or so in the field of social sciences, but at least in modern psych, he would be deemed clinically sane. I think. There are those of us who would think it is crazy and insane - his philosophy on pretty much all, but I don't think he's in the realm of being unaware of his what his actions mean and theIr repercussions.
That kind of reminds me of Joker in Salvation Run right now. For the first time EVER, the Joker doesn't seem AT ALL insane on Planet Hulk, despite his murderousness.
