There should be one Avengers team, not this New Avengers and Mighty Avengers thing. Who do you think should be on the team?
Here's my list:
Captain America (Steve Rogers - they really need to bring him back)
Hulk (With Bruce Banner's brain)
Iron Man
Wonderman
The Vision
The Scarlet Witch
Hercules
Sersi
The Black Knight (Dane Whitman)

Hmmm...I think I'll go for:
Thor
Ms. Marvel
Cap. America (Bucky!)
Hulk (Definately BB's brain)
The Wasp (Pym)
Vision and
Stature.

Psssh, they should have kept Bucky dead! XD No I guess I can't bag on the Winter Soldier too much....
Anyway my line up
Captain America (Of course Rogers)
Thor
Black Knight
HawkEye (before he went all ninja)
Spider Man
Scarlet Witch
Iron Man
Black Panther
Wasp
Ms. Marvel
and Sentry
....I think....too many to choose from, lol.

Captain America (Rogers)
Thor (You need a god on an Avengers team)
Iron man (To round out the big three, and smart guys are useful like Swiss army knives)
Hawkeye (I love the character)
Falcon (He deserves it)
Ms Marvel (Reed has made her interesting)
Rage (It'd be good to have him back now that he's a bit older)
Gravity (You always need a new guy)

Take Dingo's list and toss in Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, and (assuming we're setting this in current continuity) Nick Fury as a strategist.
Of course, let's not forget reserve members Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist

I laughed when I read that they added Wolverine to the Avengers. He would never join such an outfit, for any reason.
That's when you know that comics are being written by the idiot accountant in the back office, and not actual writers and artists.
Is Logan still on the Avengers? I am enjoying Straczynski's take on Thor. It would be interesting seeing those two try to team up.

I'm not sure that's fair. Avengers have had several loner type characters fit in the team over the years. Not that Wolverine has been portrayed as a loner. He's almost always on multiple X-teams.
He has only ever been an anti-hero because of his methods. Being a member of the Avengers still rings true for his character, especially considering the tone of New Avengers.

I stopped following the whole Mighty/New Avengers series a while ago, but last I heard he was still working with the NA's. I know for a fact he is still an Avengers member in the "Marvel adventures" universe (which is the best comic universe out there, IMHO)

All I'm saying is that if the corporate suits at Marvel said Wolverine would help the sales of Strawberry Shortcake comics, you'd see a team up there, too. That was my reaction to seeing him on the Avengers.
If the writers can come up with some good reasons for him being there, fine. But it seemed like an accounting decision, not a creative one. I could be wrong.

I'll have to check it out, thanks!

Yeah that is exactly why he's there. No question.
As for a good reason... I'm not sure it was a good reason, but it felt like the same reason the original Avengers formed, which felt somehow right to me.

I think we will be seeing lots more of Wolverine with the movie coming out soon. He is getting another solo series already. I think he is being used to much. But Marvel of course will promote him if they think it will generate sales.
