So which do ya buy more of product wise?

I buy more DC. I switched to being more of a DC fan, but I just recently got into Marvel a little bit and read the Civil War series. It was a good read I thought. I think I might start picking up some of their titles, give 'em a shot and see where it goes from there.

In general, Marvel.

Although lately, I've mainly bought Marvel/DC crossovers.

At this point, I only get a handful of Marvel at all.

Avengers Initiative. LOVEITloveitLOVEITloveit!!!!
New Avengers.
Mighty Avengers (debatable)
Thor
X-Factor
New Warriors (until the bitter end)

I MAY pick up Dark Avengers.
And, if ASTONISHING TALES is good as the last run of MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS was, I'll be getting that.

I just dropped Amazing Spidey and Incredible Hercules.

DC...too many to name, though I've dropped anything bat-related., except Outsiders. Two words: Peter Tomasi! Yay!

Pile? You don't box your comics?

I grew up on Marvel, and that's carried over for the most part today. I still read a decent amount of DC, because I love a lot of their characters, but my I find I have more interest invested in Marvel as a universe.

Seb: I can see dropping ASM during the big One More Day stink, but these past two issues are probably the best spidey stories printed in years.

I was referring to a small pile of about six trades I had grabbed off my shelf a couple days ago to study their paneling and I haven't reshelved them yet. I got them half off at the boston comic con a month ago. I generally only buy one graphic novel a month if that.

I never buy monthly issues. I read about a hundred different webcomics and I buy graphic novels when they strike my fancy. Only one I'm currently following is DMZ and I'm only up to the fourth trade.

I'm a grad student, hopefully that will change in January, then I'll just be a cheap skate.

If you're counting that punisher crap or the now you see JJJ's dad, now you don't story...you're nuts!

Peter has acted totally out of character since Brand New Day. He's supposed to make quips, yes. But, they have him as a total goof-ball idiot 24/7. The guy's a scientist, former teacher, who invented a webshooter at age 16. He's not an idiot.

They've turned him into worse than a cliche, they've made him a caricature of himself. I have every issue of amazing except issue 2, and all the other titles. But, I just can't keep reading this stuff. To the fans that like and even love it, great. More power to ya. But for me, a lifelong Spidey fan, it's over. The changes they've made I could have lived with if they had been made differently; as an organic part of the story. But as it is, the Marvel bullpen keeps rallying behind the idea that "the wedding was forced unnaturally on us" as a tie in to the comic strip. Which is funny to me, since the "new status quo" was even more forced than that was.
And this rotating of creative teams every 1 to 3 issues just hinders the book's ability to get a solid feel to it. The status quo is, there is no status quo, and things seem to just happen.

Sorry, bit of a rant, there....but as a guy who still has (but doesn't use) the spidey nightlight that helped me sleep in 1974, I think I've earned the right to bitch about Spidey's treatement.

I've not been a fan of the post-BND stuff up until this current storyline with Shocker and JJJ's dad. I hated issue 575 (the one featuring "Greta"), as I think it was a terrible portrayal of Spidey. These past issues, though, are really naturally written. I think they do a great job of presenting Spider-Man as a real person dealing with the problems in his world (unlike what we've seen in Spider-Man stories for the past year or so, which have been too silly and out-of-character for me to enjoy). These past few issues have made me go from not even having an interest in Spidey to actually looking forward to buying the new issue every week.

I've been getting the Invincible TPB's. I''ll be getting Volume 4 soon, I'm really enjoying it so far. :)

I also get JSA, JLA, Green Lantern, GLC, Flash, and Avengers. Then of course there's Final Crisis, and Secret Invasion. :)

Final Crisis just isn't doing it for me. It lacks a sense of "real" threat. I'm likin' the Legion of Three Worlds, and Rogues Revenge was great!

Secret Invasion was really good until the last issue. That last issue killed it. The whole thing was wrapped a little cleanly and completely.

Dark Reign has potential, but only if there's FINALLY a big pay-off, where the heroes get to be heroes again.

And, in keeping with my WTF reaction to Spidey of late, the fact that one of the new Avengers solicits reads "..how can the Avengers trust Spiderman if he won't take off his mask" just pisses me off. We've been through all of this. Much like Spidey's own stories, we're just seeing a rehash of old plot devices from the past. Brand New Day has quickly become Same Old Day. Like Groundhog's Day, only not funny.

On the plus side, AVENGERS INITIATIVE continues to kick ass! I LOVE that book. This week's issue was fantastic, and I love the window of opportunity the ending left us. Crusader better get a happy ending! And it looks like that cosmic cube ring of his may be on it's way to providing just that.
AVENGERS INITIATIVE really makes the MU for me!

I gotta say I wasn't impressed with either Final Crisis or Secret Invasion. Secret Invasion just had too much going on in it to follow without reading each book one right after the other, not to mention all the tie in's. And yes, Final Crisis isn't doing much for me either. I agree whole heartedly on the lack of a real threat thing.

I'm starting to dig on JSA though with the Gog/Magog storyline. :)

JSA is great! Johns is the man!! It's too bad he's leaving, but his last issue is called "Black Adam ruined my birthday," and I can't think of a better note to end on!

i tend not to go for any direct DC comics at all, im a Marvel fan mainly but I do still go for the odd Vertigo and Image releases but I've never really been able to get into the DC universe at all..

I enjoy Joker's Asylum, Joker's last laugh and Batman long halloween but other than that i cant get attached to any of the characters... or they dont appeal to me..

however i loved the JLA and Teen titans cartoons :D
