PF: Thank you for taking a few minutes of your time to talk with us, Salvatore.

Let’s start out with how Wolf S Studios began. Who makes up your creative team and how did you all come together to form Wolf S Studios?

<img src="http://www.projectfanboy.com/images/interviews/wolfsstudios.jpg" hspace="10" align="left">Sal: Well, Wolf S Studios unofficially began when I was only 15 years old, I created it as a manga and anime Production Company for the future and after that even signed all my work under the alias Wolf S. Then 6 years later in June 2006 I officially registered Wolf S Studios as a business, though at that time only working in the graphic design field. But mid way through 2007 I thought it was time to realize my dream and I started pushing my team towards bigger and better things, my assistant manager and Co-Founder of Wolf S Studios Laura, found Twofold Comics after many months of searching. With them taking on our first graphic novel “Altered State”, Wolf S Studios the manga and anime Production Company was on its way.

As for our main creative team, I am obviously a part of all aspects of Wolf S Studios being the creator and owner, though we have many casual employees that we have on record just incase we unexpectedly get an overwhelming workload. Though we have two full time members, me and Laura, who as I said before is the assistant manager and Co-Founder of Wolf S Studios, who also dabbles into all aspects of our field like myself. I met Laura online and found we have very similar interests and skills, so after some time we met and I released the information about the idea of Wolf S Studios to her, jumping onboard straight away, she offered to put some money into the building of Wolf S Studios and so the partnership began, though being under my name and my original idea, Laura holds a big part in the Wolf S Studios company.

And second we have our only part time employee Joel, who has great knowledge in computers, helping with the general setup of the Wolf S Studios office and plays a major part in our coloring division. I met Joel just over ten years ago, though starting out as general acquaintances, we eventually grew to become great friends and being the first person I indulged the secrets of Wolf S Studios to, he quickly became apart of it as well.

PF: Wolf S Studios is based in Perth, Australia; will your works be available here in the United States as well?

Sal: All of Wolf S Studios works will be available throughout certain comic retailer in Australia and general stores. Though saying that all of Wolf S Studios’ projects will be available to the entire world to order online, wherever and whenever they want and will be shipped to them directly.

PF: How long has Wolf S Studios been in existence?

Sal: As I mentioned before Wolf S Studios was an idea I created many years ago, though became an official business in June 2006 and in 2007 I changed our standing from general graphic design to comic and graphic novel production. Now with our first graphic novel coming early 2008, Wolf S Studios is finally being known in the comic industry.

PF: Who were your major influences that prompted you to get into the comic book industry?

Sal: From an early age I have loved comics, Spiderman and X-Men in particular, but it was finally manga novels that inspired me to get into the industry. Reading mangas like “Iron Fist Chinmi” and “3x3 Eyes”, I just couldn’t help myself, I definitely thought this will be the career for me. I will create comics, graphic novels and mangas that will inspire people like they have done so for me. Not only that, but I plan to give people a greater feeling behind the stories and make all people feel like they were an actual part of the books world.

PF: Is there anyone in the industry that you’d like to work with?

Sal: No one in particular, just anyone with the same interests and passion that I have.

PF: If you could write for one of the comic book giants, like Marvel or DC, would you want to, and if so, what title would you like to take a stab at?

Sal: Funny enough that you should mention writing, because writing is definitely my forte. I love writing for my own projects personally, because I feel it’s completely my own creation and who would know more about the story, the characters and everything about the project itself than the original creator.

But to answer your question, if I had to pick one, I wouldn’t want to write about anything I don’t know much about, so being an adamant Street Fighter II fan growing up, I could definitely see myself writing for the Street Fighter II comic adaptation that Udon Comics created.

PF: You currently have three projects in the works, “Altered State”, “Black Blood” and “Crystal Dreams”, with quite a bit of hype about the latter’s storyline. For now though, let’s begin with your graphic novel which is to be your initial launch, Altered State.

Sal: Before I go on with the questions that are specific to our comics and graphic novels, I will mention that some aspects of the questions you ask may be secrets that will come out later at designated times in the appropriate series. But none the less I will answer your questions the best I can and definitely give you and your readers a deeper insight into the characters and storylines without giving away the certain things I would like to keep secret.

PF: What can you tell us about this retired peace officer, Gabriel whom you’ve referred to as a “super cop”?

Sal: Gabriel was the top of the force, the best officer the world has ever seen, the medals and badges he has collected over the years by far dwarf the accomplishments of the entire Arcaidia Police Department put together.
Though the only thing that sets him apart from all other members of the APD is, that he has no wife, no children and no family, which has made work his only concern in life. With no one to worry about and nothing to really live for, he became an officer without fear.

But after the years went by, Gabriel wanted more, he wanted to experience the true meaning of life like his colleagues around him and everyone else. Continuing on the path he was on, he was sure to meet an early grave, so finally he had enough. Wanting to retire so early would normally be unacceptable, but with his accomplishments and accolades no one could question his decision. Now retired and getting his first break in many years, Gabriel tops off all his hard work with a holiday to Hawaii and that is where our story begins.

PF: What evil has been unleashed on the citizens of Arcaidia and what can we expect Gabriel to be going up against?

Sal: In Altered State, Gabriel will go up against things that go far beyond his worst nightmares. From humanoids deformed in many different ways with demented views on life, to creatures so violent, so unimaginable, Gabriel will have to keep his wits about him just to survive, though even being a super cop, nothing would have prepared him for this.
Be prepared to see an array of enemies based on creatures from our current world, though so diverse, so vial, readers are going to find it hard to sleep at night.

PF: It’s our understanding that issue one was to be published through Twofold Comics and was to be available this month, has that gone according to schedule, and if so, where can it be purchased?

Sal: The fact behind the release date is, it was meant to be this month, though due to Wolf S Studios still being available for graphic design, our work load has been immense, thinking we could pass on our design work to our casual members was also not an option, for the majority of our jobs had specific artist requests. So doing the best we can, as well as advertising Wolf S Studios as much as I could, the release will now be pushed back to March 08. So now that will be the official release of Altered State Issue 01, I just hope all our fans can bare with us and understand our unexpected workload.

But just to mention, Altered State Issue 02 will be released a lot quicker than Altered State Issue 01, for the fact that once people have read the first novel, we don’t want to leave them hanging too long for the next.
Altered State can be purchased online from Twofold Comics or from us directly.

PF: Your second project, Black Blood is about the legendary Dracula and his son, Alucard; but with all the hype being built up about Crystal Dreams it seems that this project may have been put on the back burner? What project can we expect to see next?

Sal: Well Crystal Dreams will be our biggest project for sure, with the story I have planned and with 50+ Issues at least and that’s just for the first series, it’s something that will go one for a very long time. So I have planned out our projects in order of Issues, detail and what I think will be the most popular.

So still going according to plan, the Altered State series will obviously be finished first and then you should expect to see Black Blood, which in length will be a little bit longer than Altered State and then finally Crystal Dreams will hit the scene with an extraordinary amount of issues and series.

Also just to add further detail, if you have seen the preview, Altered State is evidently a black, white and grey toned graphic novel. Though both Black Blood and Crystal Dreams will be fully colored standard comic book series.

PF: Crystal Dreams, which is set in a medieval world, seems to be your personal pride and joy and is definitely being talked up on your blogs. Your protagonist Sal is said to be born of an ancient race of demon hunters, what can you tell us about this race? Do they exhibit any extraordinary powers or abilities?

Sal: I won’t release the name of the race yet….But quite frankly the race that Sal belongs to exhibit qualities that many other races have, but all combined into one and with no weaknesses evidently creates the ultimate race. Their sole purpose for living and the reason they were created was simply to guard the Ancient Relic and hunt down all the demons on earth. The general qualities that they all have are, they are immortal and will live forever, they are immune to any sickness, disease or poison and have astonishing abilities in strength, magic (For an easier way to explain it), agility and physique. They heal almost instantaneously to any wound, though I haven’t gone too extreme, if you utterly destroy them, decapitation if you will, they will obviously die. And even though all the beings from this race differ from size, to look, to fighting style, one thing they all have is the same…..see if you all can figure it out????

PF: What is the ancient relic created by Lucifer and how will it affect the fate of the world?

Sal: The Relic that Lucifer created is an item with such power, it is able to take the life form that it is attached to and dwarf their natural abilities, as well as create a weapon and armor that suits the holder perfectly. Taking the biblical tale on Lucifer, he was once an angel cast down from the heavens, who wants to take his revenge on god and the holy kingdom. I followed that, so to take an item with such power it could enhance all of your abilities many times over and to be in the hands of Lucifer himself, it would be the end of mankind and all life as we know it.

PF: Can you give us any insights as to who or what the allies Sal must form will be? More ancient races, extraordinary humans, renegade demons?

Sal: I won’t give away too much, but every character that joins Sal has their own unique persona, from race to fighting style and to their own personal reason for joining. Anyone could be an ally, lets just hope he picks the best and the most worthy, for they will be the ones that the fate of the world, rests on their shoulders.

PF: Again, thanks for speaking with us Salvatore, and we wish you luck on all your future endeavors!

Sal: It was a pleasure and it's great to see that people are so interested in us.
