View Full Version : IE Crash

Whether I'm on at home or at uni, if I have Project Fanboy open for more than a couple of minutes, Internet Explorer crashes with the reason stated as being an error in a line of code on PFB.

Is this something you don't know about or am I preaching to the choir?

If it was just when I was at home, I would have blamed my PC, but I went on at uni this morning and it did the same thing.

Anyone else have this issue?

I haven't had any problems at all.

Hmm.. IE7 or 6? Let me know and I'll play around (I use firefox, but I know that Zoom uses IE)

Also can you answer these questions?

1) Are there any toolbars that are used?
2) Is it on projectfanboy.com or the messageboard (or both?)
3) Please let me know exactly what the URL is you are viewing when it crashes (ie. Is it a certain page?)
4) When does it crash (such as when you click a link, etc?)

Let me know and I'll start me detective work.

1) Do you mean like Google or MSN Live or MySearch? If so, nope, I don't have any of those installed. Never have either, I always untick the option.
2) It's only ever occurred on the Message Board, but that's where I spend most of my time, so I can't confirm whether it happens on the main site or not yet.
3) Will let you know when it next happens :)
4) As above :) But if I remember rightly, sometimes it just happens when a page is merely open. No particular process seems to be required.

Re: The earlier question - It's Internet Explorer 7 (Specifically 7.0.5730.11).

Hmmm.. well I look forward to hearing your next reply. I'm using IE6 and Zoom is using 7. Neither have had problems, but perhaps we haven't just been at the right place at the right time.

Let me know when you have it happen again and I'll do some further investigation. =)
