This was a decent read. It basically goes over how Kyle got his Green Lantern ring and learned to use it along with how being a hero is more then having super powers. Not the best book I've ever read but definately worth the $7.99. It has a decent storyline, although the style in which it is written is from Kyle's perspective and his way of telling a story is a little different from most books you might have read.
Blurb:Kyle Rayner never asked to be a hero. But a chance encounter with an extraterrestrial leaves him in possession of a powerful weapon in the form of a ring. With godlike abilities and a new name -- Green Lantern -- Kyle becomes a super hero and a member of the Justice League. But when he arrives at League headquarters to ?nd his teammates missing, his investigation into their disappearance leads him on a journey unlike any he, or anyone else, has ever experienced before. Traveling to the end of space itself, where the universe is in the process of coming into existence, Green Lantern must unravel a strange series of secrets before he and the Justice League are annihilated -- along with every living creature in the universe!

I don't really have a hole lot to say about this book. It introduced me to some characters I'd never read about before and brought in Blackcat (who had some funny catfights with MJ) and the Rhino and showed a different side of him that I never knew about. All in all it was a good read and I'd recommend it.
Blurb: Peter Parker's life has hit a peaceful stretch. No evildoers have tried to flatten him in weeks, his marriage to Mary Jane is
stronger than ever, and he's enjoying his job as a high school science teacher. Life is good.
Naturally, that doesn't last.
When Peter learns that his old enemy the Rhino is on a rampage in Times Square, he suits up as Spider-Man to stop the destructive villain in his tracks. But he's unexpectedly foiled in his attempts by the Black Cat, a former ally and old flame. The Cat informs Peter that the Rhino is just a distraction -- the real threat comes from a group of Ancients, members of the same race as the being called Morlun, who Spidey defeated in battle years earlier. The Ancients are now looking to exact revenge -- and hope to steal Spider-Man's life force in the process.
To defeat such powerful beings, Spider-Man is going to need all the help he can get, especially from the Black Cat. But what will Mary Jane Parker have to say about that? Peter isn't sure which is worse -- the Ancients trying to drain his life force, or the wrath of a jealous wife....

This is an oldie but a goodie, and a must read for comic fans whether they're a Superman fan or not. In fact I'd dare to say it's one of the best comic novels (perhaps even novels period) that I've ever read. I read this book in the 9th grade and could not put it down. It took me about a week to read it and I don't remember much else about that week.. it was really that good.
Blurb: "The Death of Superman" was a comic book storyline leading up to Superman #75 (January 1993) that served as the catalyst for the DC Comics crossover event of 1993, which had the umbrella title The Death and Return of Superman.
The storyline was a major media event. Its premise is as simple as its title: Superman engages in battle with a seemingly unstoppable killing machine named Doomsday in the streets of Metropolis. At the fight's conclusion, both combatants are killed.
The crossover depicted the world's reaction to Superman's death in "Funeral For a Friend," the emergence of four individuals claiming to be the "new" Superman, and the eventual return of the original Superman in "Reign of the Supermen!"
The storyline was devised by editor Mike Carlin and the 1991-1993 Superman writing team of Dan Jurgens, Roger Stern, Louise Simonson, Jerry Ordway and Karl Kesel. The move was a response to underperforming sales, and met with enormous success. The Superman titles gained international exposure, reaching to the top of the comics sales charts and selling out overnight. The event made the front pages (though not the headline) of several newpapers outside the United States.

Justice League of America The Flash: Stop Motion is next on my list of books to read. Anyone read it? Got it as a gift, but I'll probably start it soon.

Heard this one was a pretty good read, anyone here like it? I picked it up a little while ago, but I have a few other books I need to read before I get to it. Any thoughts on it?

comic: Wet Moon
artist: Ross Campbell
publisher: Oni
Kinda a comic about nothing. Cleo's going to an art college in a town called wet moon. She smokes, meets weird people, has a bunch of gay friends. A very low-key series. I think it's a lovely and addictive story. Nothing much ever really happens but I'm still riveted.
Is there any other Ross Campbell fans here?

I've always been interested in the Star Wars movies and I'm thinking about branching out into the books and comic books. I have no idea where to start though. Are there essential books to read? I was also interested in the earliest time period in which these stories take place, the origins of Jedi's and The Dark Side. Do any of the stories take place on earth? What time period are we talking about for the films in terms of AD? Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

The Incredible Hulk
What Savage Beast
by Peter David
w/ Art (sketches) by George Perez
ISBN 0-399-14104-9
Any fan of Peter David's "Prof. Hulk or Banner Hulk" and Future Imperfect (w/George Perez) will love this!
The Maestro returns! However, not the same Maestro from FI but one from another dimension/universe. I really recommend this if you are a Hulk fan. Its an easy read. A+
*I bought a copy off ebay for like five bucks. Well worth it!
