Reviewer Comments:
We enter this issue with Cobra Commander holding the world hostage under threat of nuclear annihilation, with G.I. Joe and Destro as their only remaining hope. The artwork is on par with what we've come to expect from the great titles put out by Devil's Due, and the issue builds to a climactic cliffhanger as Cobra Commander reveals his sinister plot. Some of the panels in this issue share a bond with Snake Eyes and seem to try to convey what's being said by actions rather than words, where they show what appear to be conversations but leave it to the reader to deduce what is being said or not said.
While some things are left to the reader to figure out, Cobra Commander's ruthless and evil ways are drawn quite clearly and to a point as Major Bludd finds that not even family is safe from being made an example out of. On top of that, in this issue Cobra Commander's "If I can't have it, no one can" attitude shows exactly how far he's willing to go to get what he wants... and the fate of the world seems to be in the hands of a madman.
