Reviewer Comments:

Jumping head first into the series at issue #9, we find a medieval and mystical world of dragons, barbarians, magic and of course warfare. The artwork in this title is suprisingly not what I've come to expect from DDP works, and seems to have a dismal look to it bordering on substandard when it comes to some of the more unhuman like creatures. Whether that was the look Gopez was going for or not, I don't think Roberts and Walpole should've stopped at the cover.

The protagonist in this tale, Tanis finds himself heavily opposed, but determined to do what he must to save Laurana. But even in a world of savagery it seems red tape has to be dealt with and incontrovertibly is the undoing of Tanis' plans to infiltrate the enemy stronghold of Neraka. With his plan in shambles, Tanis makes a final attempt to save Laurana by offering himself in exchange for her freedom, but the blue lady seems to have plans of her own for both Tanis and his love.

Unless Tanis has a trick or two up his elven sleves, it appears that Tanis he'll be no exception to the words of William Congreve...

Heav'n has no rage like love to hatred turn'd
Nor Hell a fury, like a woman scorn'd.
