InvestComics the week that was…..
The week started off with some great news for Spider-Girl (http://www.investcomics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1412&Itemid=1) fans. Marvel went on from here to talk about their new Astonishing X-Men #1 along with a Wolverine/Spider-Man title. Check out some of the teaser art for this right here (http://www.investcomics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1416&Itemid=1). The Marvel solicitations for May 2010 (http://www.investcomics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1418&Itemid=1) hit this week, a lot of real cool things happening in the coming months. The Spider-Man movie reboot gets more 3D news right here (http://www.investcomics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1423&Itemid=1). Thor’s movie has Sir Anthony Hopkins talking about his role as Odin (http://www.investcomics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1428&Itemid=1). Brian Bendis (http://www.investcomics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1435&Itemid=1) started to drop hints that he might be involved with the Spidey reboot.
DC started their week off their week with some very nice Brightest Day Solicits. A Detective Comics #27 is being auctioned off as you read this. The last bid in the article (http://www.investcomics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1419&Itemid=1) from a few days ago was up to $418,250!! We’re still in a recession right?? Invest in comic books! DC also showed us some variants coming our way. One of DC’s final news release this week came in the form of a restructuring of their front office. This was very big news and if you haven’t read anything about this, you really should! This past week saw the debut of the InvestComics promo card. This promo card will be double sided with Zaldiva on one side and InvestComics on the other. Hot Picks 2-24-10
Short week, but with Blackest Night and Siege, it’s an awesome time to be reading comics ain’t it?!?!
Last week, SuperginraiX of the Outhouse pointed out a glaring mistake in the Hot Picks. It was stated that the Blackest Night epic was on its final issue. This is obliviously not true and was a big error. These things happen once in a blue moon and InvestComics apologizes for the misstep. …..So with that, Blackest Night #7 comes out this week with a ‘Top Secret’ cover. The series DOES press on and continues to be the hottest comic event on the planet. Follow MORE Lantern in Black Lantern Green Arrow #30. It looks like Flash: Rebirth #6 will finally come out. Although many fans have been disgruntled about the delay, watch this comic fly off the shelves as the second and third printings will be following very shortly.
Marvel’s own epic Siege is living up to its hype so far. Thor #607 looks like THE Siege book of the week. Don’t miss this one! This week brings the end of a Marvel comic. Ms. Marvel #50 will be a fight to the finish between Ms. Marvel & Mystique. Look for this comic to sell out quickly.
One Independent title jumps out this week. Captain Swing #1 from Avatar, written by the awesome Warren Ellis.
