Reviewer Comments:
Mixing it up here in issue #44, we have a different creative team, and story that focuses on Karai and the Foot Clan. A young Karai leads a bunch of other young/foolish foot soldiers to search out a cursed amulet that, while is known to be nothing but trouble, may also bring strength to the Foot. You know that old saying, "If you go looking for trouble, you'll find it"? Well, needless to say, they find the amulet and end up learning a lot about themselves and each other! There's also a fun back up story with Splinter and the Turtles.

I was initially put off by this issue, admittedly, because the art was a lot sleeker than what I'm used to for TMNT stories, but that isn't to say it was bad in any way (quite the contrary). By the end of the story, everything had come together pretty well, and I was so engaged in the story that my preconceived notions (shame on me) of what TMNT should be melted away. Good job, and fun story!
