Reviewer Comments:
You gotta love Tales of the TMNT, cause they really give you a lot of bang for your buck. Here we are at issue #45, kind of a solo outing for Jim Lawson who provided scripting and art, with another great tale. So we've got Raph, Don, and Mike out camping when Mike tells a scary story about small town who got totally warped and and mutated by an ancient evil. In his story, the town was covered by water and used as a resivoir for the surrounding towns. Wouldn't you know the scary story comes true right there during their camping trip?
Fun (well for the reader, anyway) and action ensues as the fish-zombie like creatures kidnap Mike while Don and Raph attempt to rescue him, climaxing with showdown with one of the gnarliest cave/rock/tentacle creatures I've ever had the pleasure to see. Great story overall, and, of course, great Jim Lawson art! Probably one of the best issues yet.
