Reviewer Comments:
Salem; Queen of Thorns is a continuing series, that follows Elias Hooke. A man with a mysterious and troubled past who has caused quite a ruckus in the sleepy town of Salem. However not all is as it seems. As Hooke and his two companions, Hannah, and Thomas flee into the wilderness, darker things are afoot. With Hopkins still hot on their trail and the dark shadow of god breathing down their faces, the trio is in an interesting bind.
Even coming in later on in the Salem series, it isn’t hard to catch little hints of what has been missed in this comic. The artwork is amazing, and the storyline packs a unique punch itself. The dialogue flows the way it should for a professionally done story such as this one. I also can happily say I like the characters, the plot, and the little twists so far thrown in. I’m also a big fan of stories that have history to them, and the comic shows it and uses it quite well to develop the entirety of the tale.
If your looking for something different, this story has it. If your into the comics that touch the supernatural, the unknown, this story has it. If your looking for mystery, history, and a one eyed socio path that “works for God,” this story has it. :D I however would like to go further back into the books that led into this particular series and see more witch hunting action by the infamous Elias Hooke. Until then however, enjoy this particular story line, because it’s a good one.
