I'd like to see you make a Wiki page for yourselves :)

Upped our stats big style.

Just make sure it has ALOT of notable info on, such as where your site is referenced online, site background/history, details about contributors, maybe some visitor stats if you feel the need, site content etc etc.

But remember not to make it look like an advert. Write it from a neutral viewpoint.

Oh and "shit" :) (Because I apparently can) :o

Yeah, I'm working on that. trying to Get board tracker to add us at the moment. I'm modeling our page after yours as much as possible.

Goodness. I wouldn't hold your breath mate - they take forever. It annoyed the heck out of me.

Yes, I think I added us the day you and I talked about the wiki page, or maybe the day after and we're still not up. I think I've got most of the wiki page done (in notepad), just waiting for things like board tracker, etc. before I try to add it. Not sure if html works to make those pages yet either so I may have to figure that out when I actually go to add the page. (I know you said they have some weird commands for mark up.)

KJS

They do yeah.

Code for bolding, italic, headers, bullets, links, referencing etc etc are all very weird. Very simple, but very weird.

If you'd like to send it to me first I'll check it over for you.

Oh and Boardtracker took months for us!

Steven Sykora 4000
Wednesday, January 30, 2008, 03:13 PM
Months?? Are you freaking serious? Guess I should just submit the wiki page and update it after they add us. And thanks, I'll send it to you or post it here when I'm done with it.

Yup, genuinely serious. And I don't just mean a couple.

We were finally indexed at the start of this year, and I believe it was last June that we were submitted.

Granted, there was an update at some point during that period, but it certainly didn't take 7 months to do it.

This is what I have so far.... underlined things are things I still need to work on...

Project Fanboy, or simply "PF as some of come to call it, is a comic book related website that has existed since the summer of 2005. It was founded by two men known only as "Drake" and "Zoom".

The site is comprised of articles and features. The aforementioned articles are written by the administrative team contributors who all use differing writing styles, ideas and subject matter.

Contributors
ProjectFanboy has a team of contributors who go by various usernames (researchers, writers, technical advisors etc) with differing personalities, backgrounds and interests, which means the content can go from one extreme to the other.

Articles
ProjectFanboy.com has subscribed to various press releases from official comic book publishing companies such as DC, Marvel, Image, Darkhorse, etc as well as other comic book related websites, and frequently publishes news, fan art, comic book FAQ, upcoming movie and video game trailers of comic book related media.

Interviews
Project Fanboy has yet to conduct any interviews as of yet but plans to do so in the near future with various comic book authors, publishers, creators, artists, actors and more.

Promoting Smaller Artists and Independent Comic Book Publishers

Project Fanboy helps promote new and rising independent comic book publishers, artists, creators, and comic book stores, by offering free forums and news updates to help the companies showcase their products and advertise their companies at no charge.

ProjectFanboy Fansite AwardProjectFanboy also promotes smaller fansites by awarding deserving sites with the ProjectFanboy Award (PFA). The PFA is handed out on a monthly basis, and there is also a ProjectFanboy Award of the Year, which has yet to be handed out and will make it’s debut in January of 2009.

Features
Project Fanboy hosts a number of features to include:

Comic Book Glossary - Perhaps one of the most interesting features of Project Fanboy is "The comic book glossary", which is an ever growing collection of biographies on superheroes, villains, teams, and information on significant items in the comic book world. The sizeable database can be searched through by character/item name or related text in the definition itself. One can also peruse through the database, by clicking on the category one wishes to view and then a letter in order to find content on just about anything in the comic book world..
As with wikipedia, anyone can contribute to the comic book glossary and users are encouraged to add their comic knowledge to the rapidly growing database.

Comic Book Tattoos - a gallery of photos where people took photos of their comic book related tattoos which have been showcased randomly on the homepage of the site.

User bars - Another interesting feature is Project Fanboy's interesting spin on the popular "user bars". Many sites online have featured user bars, but Project Fanboy seems to have cornered the market on comic book oriented user bars. They include user bars for dozens of comic book characters from such companies as Marvel, DC, Image, and Darkhorse comics. Custom user bars are also made upon request.

Forums
The forums at Project Fanboy are powered by the commercial package VBulletin packed with useful information for comic book fans of all ages.

Popular topics of discussion at the forums include the features and articles on the main site, as well as comic book media, such as film, television and comic books themselves. Fan fiction has also recently started being published there and will soon be published on the homepage.

The forum is archived at such online media as Board Tracker[10] and Board Reader[11].

Search Engines and Internet Directories
Project Fanboy has high rankings in all major search engines (such as Yahoo[12] and Google[13]) and will appear relatively high, if not highest, in most related searches. It is also stored in many of the more obscure directories (such as Maddirectory[14] and Bazsites[15]) which makes it widely available to the viewing public.

Media
A Twisted Outlook was reviewed on the Galaxy Network in their "60 Second Web" segment.

Link Exchange Scheme
Project Fanboy indulges in a cost-effective link exchange scheme which has seen it exchange links with the likes of A Twisted Outlook[16] and Bring Back Wendell[17]

Other Information
Singer Andrea Love, vocalist on records such as Shined On Me, has recently contacted ATO requesting that she write articles from a female point of view for the site and is likely to start doing so in 2008.
