Reviewer Comments:
INDEGO BLUE is a sci-fi adventure with an almost Bruce Timm animated feel. This book is a lot of fun. You've got animal-human hybrids being hunted down by human soldiers, a group of rebels consisting of humans and hybrids, and our hero, Indego Blue, a dog-man former secret agent whose mind was wiped during his transformation. He has a guinea-pig looking friend, Baxter, who is like "Q" from the James Bond books, whipping up new gadgets and secret weapons.

Robert Russell and Jesse young keep the story moving and really pack in a lot of character development while keeping the action hopping and building the sense of mystery and intrigue. Howard Russell's art is simply fantastic, with a smooth animated feel that keeps it fun without making it seem childish. In fact, I can't think of too many art styles that would better suit this book, as Russell's depiction of the animal/men hybrids has just the right blend of realism with cartoonishness to keep the whole thing from looking silly. You take this as seriously as a Bruce Timm Batman cartoon, and that's pretty serious!

A great start to a great series, I'm in for the long haul.
